About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credit Controller to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate capture of accounting transactions, processing creditor invoices, and maintaining reconciliations of accounts in the general ledger.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture accounting transactions accurately into the accounting system
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations of accounts in the general ledger
- Reconcile purchase orders, goods received, and supplier invoices
- Verify the validity of tax invoices and credit notes and ensure proper approval
- Assign budgetary expenditure to correct GL accounts and cost centres
- Maintain an organized filing system for accounting records, contracts, and invoices
- Follow up on and reconcile monthly vendor statements
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in a senior creditors or credit control role
- Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and creditors management
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
