About the Role

The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer position at Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd involves maintaining the safety and security of our organization’s systems and network to prevent unauthorized access and avoid data breaches. This role requires strategic planning, project management, team leadership, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of the network and security infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design, Install, configure, and support network and security equipment, including Firewall, Switches, Wireless access controller, IP Telephony from a wide range of leading vendors.
Creating and overseeing security measures such as access authentication and privilege matrix.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
Implement proactive monitoring and maintenance practices to prevent downtime and minimize disruptions to business operations.
Conduct regular assessments and audits of network infrastructure components, identifying and addressing any issues or vulnerabilities.
Documenting network setup, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to protect the organization’s infrastructure assets and data.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to infrastructure security and data privacy.

Requirements

Experience in industry leading products such as Cisco, Palo Alto, FortiGate, Meraki, Aruba, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent etc…
Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP).
Solid background in network and network security administration and architecture.
In-depth understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols.
Familiarity with access control models and network security.
