Job Description

Qualifications & Experience Required: Matric plus NQF Level 7 Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Network Engineering or related field Professional-level certification (Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, or equivalent ) ITIL Foundation certification Valid Drivers License. Expert-level certifications (Cisco CCIE, Fortinet NSE 8, etc.) – advantageous Cloud networking certifications (AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Expert) – advantageous Cybersecurity certifications relevant to networking (e.g., CISSP, CCSP) – advantageous 79 Years in enterprise network engineering roles At least 3 years in a senior or advanced capacity Proven track record in WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, and firewall implementations at enterprise scale Experience integrating networks with cloud and hybrid environments Proven track record in designing and delivering enterprise-scale network solutions Experience with WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, and hybrid cloud networking at scale. Key Deliverables: Advanced Network Design and Implementation Lead design and implementation of enterprise-scale networks Architect resilient, secure, and scalable network solutions Ensure integration with cloud and hybrid environments. Escalation and Advanced Troubleshooting Act as a third-line escalation for critical incidents Lead root cause analysis and systemic improvements Coordinate with vendors for complex fault resolution. Security and Compliance Partner with Cybersecurity to enforce enterprise security controls Implement segmentation, IDS/IPS, and zero-trust networking Ensure compliance with regulations (POPIA, GDPR, ISO27001) Maintain audit trails, logs, and reports for security and compliance purposes. Optimisation and Innovation Analyse trends and recommend automation or SDN approaches Drive efficiency improvements in performance, monitoring, and costs Evaluate and test new network technologies Drive efficiency through proactive monitoring, predictive analytics, and capacity planning. Project and Transformation Lead the network workstreams of GROW/TRANSFORM initiatives Provide technical expertise to enterprise architecture forums Mentor Level 12 Engineers and build team capability. Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing Mentor and coach Engineers (L1L2) to build team capability Produce technical documentation, playbooks, and best practice guides Build knowledge base content to support operational teams Identify recurring issues and suggest service improvements for best practices Actively engage in training programmes, mentorships, and peer learning activities.
