About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Social Media Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Johannesburg. As a key member of our digital communication team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our organizational goals. Key Responsibilities
- Implement Social media strategy
- Proactive content planning, development/creation, brand positioning
- Executing digital campaigns
- Ensuring updates on all platforms, including the website
- Monitor and manage public comments/messages, responses, complaints, mitigate disinformation, and maintain positive engagement
- Create engaging posts (text, graphics, video) for platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Track trends and recommend innovative content ideas
- Collaborate with various units to source content that can enable the design and promotion of programme or campaign objectives
- Support communication campaigns through digital amplification and online community engagement
- Ensure brand consistency across all channels and compliance with communication protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or national diploma in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, Public Relations, or related field
- 35 years experience in social media management, digital communication, or online content creation
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Experience using social media management tools and content management systems (e.g. Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok)
- Knowledge of digital trends, analytics tools, and SEO fundamentals
