About the Role

WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a proactive and highly skilled Systems Administrator to join a dynamic infrastructure and support team. Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, firewalls)
Install, configure, and optimise physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V)
Support telephony infrastructure and proactively manage system alerts and uptime
Lead troubleshooting for network and server issues (both on-site and remotely)
Enforce patch management, backups, and preventative maintenance procedures
Secure environments through policy creation and monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds)
Oversee budget controls and software licence administration
Collaborate on defining network performance and security protocols
Stay current with emerging technologies and implement industry best practices

Requirements

3+ years of experience in infrastructure maintenance
Proven expertise in network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)
Microsoft Azure experience and strong SQL backup knowledge
Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and virtualisation technologies
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, SolarWinds, Nagios)
Strong scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

BSc in Computer Science or a related field
Microsoft, Security+, or Cisco certifications (Azure Admin, CCNA, etc.)
Experience with ManageEngine tools
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud)
Experience developing security and performance policies
