About the Role
Our client, a fruit processing operation based in Limpopo/northern Mpumalanga, is seeking an R&D Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the full 360° product development cycle, from concept to launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct competitor evaluation and assess potential new fruit varieties
- Evaluate product shelf-life and perform nutritional analyses
- Ensure artwork and packaging comply with legislation
- Collaborate with other departments (logistics, production, quality) on R&D projects
- Perform factory trials and costings for new products
Requirements
- Strong understanding of food science and technology principles
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with product development from concept to launch is essential
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or BTech degree in Food Science/Technology or similar qualification
