About the Role

Our client, a fruit processing operation based in Limpopo/northern Mpumalanga, is seeking an R&D Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the full 360° product development cycle, from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct competitor evaluation and assess potential new fruit varieties
  • Evaluate product shelf-life and perform nutritional analyses
  • Ensure artwork and packaging comply with legislation
  • Collaborate with other departments (logistics, production, quality) on R&D projects
  • Perform factory trials and costings for new products

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of food science and technology principles
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with product development from concept to launch is essential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or BTech degree in Food Science/Technology or similar qualification
