About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Technician to join our small but dedicated team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining IT systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to end users (remote or onsite)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Support Microsoft 365, email systems, and user account administration
  • Manage Active Directory users, groups, and permissions
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi)
  • Perform system updates, backups, and patch management
  • Assist with server maintenance and virtualization environments
  • Document support tickets, resolutions, and IT procedures
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when necessary
  • Provide basic user training and IT best practice guidance

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (beneficial/or appropriate hands-on experience)
  • 2-3 years experience in an IT support role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Windows Server environments
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
  • Familiarity with backup solutions and antivirus/security tools

Qualifications

  • Valid drivers license & reliable transport (required)
