About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Cashier to join our team in Midrand. As a key member of our store’s front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process cash, card, and electronic payments accurately
- Issue receipts, refunds, and correct change to customers
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
- Resolve customer queries and escalate complaints when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the checkout area
- Assist with stock packing, pricing, and merchandising when required
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Report shortages, discrepancies, or suspicious activity to management
- Promote store specials, loyalty programmes, and promotions where applicable
- Handle customer transactions efficiently and accurately
- Follow all health, safety, and operational procedures
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Previous cashier or retail experience advantageous
- Basic numeracy and computer skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Honest, reliable, and trustworthy
- Ability to work under pressure and handle high volumes of transactions
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
