Role Purpose The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operational management, deployment, and client success delivery of the companys mining safety technology product portfolio. The role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical and people management capabilities to ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and compliance of collision prevention, personnel detection, vehicle interface, and lamproom management systems across underground and surface mining operations. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Manage and oversee the day-to-day operational activities across multiple mining client sites Ensure reliable deployment, maintenance, and support of mining safety technology systems Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery Coordinate field deployment activities and ensure operational readiness of technical teams Client and Stakeholder Management Work closely with mine management, safety officers, and technical personnel to ensure successful product implementation Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Provide operational and technical feedback to clients regarding system performance and compliance Represent the company professionally during site engagements and operational meetings Technical Oversight and System Support Oversee the deployment and support of proximity detection, vehicle interface, personnel detection, and digital lamproom management systems Provide technical guidance and support to field teams and technicians Ensure systems comply with EMESRT, MHSA, DMR, and ISO standards where applicable Support troubleshooting, fault-finding, and system optimisation activities Compliance and Safety Management Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) regulations and DMR requirements Monitor adherence to site safety standards and operational procedures Ensure all deployments and operational activities comply with company quality and safety requirements Support ongoing risk management and safety improvement initiatives People Management and Leadership Lead, mentor, and manage operational and technical teams Ensure effective allocation of resources and workforce planning Drive performance management, training, and employee development initiatives Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence Product Portfolio Oversight Level 9 Vehicle Interface Systems EMESRT-compliant collision prevention system vehicle integration aligned to TRL4 standards Personnel Detection Systems (PDS) Proximity detection systems designed to improve personnel safety around moving machinery in mining environments MPL Lamproom Management System Digital lamproom tracking, lamp allocation, and personnel management systems AR Mobile Platform Software platform used to manage and monitor operational data from all deployed systems Role Requirements Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline Minimum 5 years experience within an operational or technical management role Previous experience within mining, industrial technology, or mining safety systems environments will be advantageous Knowledge of mining operations, collision prevention systems, and proximity detection technology Understanding of CAN-bus systems and digital lamproom management systems will be advantageous Working knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and DMR requirements relating to collision prevention systems Strong leadership, operational management, and people management skills Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities Ability to work within underground and surface mining environments Valid drivers licence Good overall health and ability to pass a mine medical examination Additional South African language proficiency will be advantageous Should you not receive a response within 10 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
