Job Description
Position
- Buyer Fluid Products. Steel Pipes, Fittings, Flanges, Valves and related fluid product.
- Interaction with multi branch network – Branch Managers, Branch Buyers and Sales staff.
Responsibilities:
- Continuous review of all group fluid products stock levels and replenishment needs.
- Review product specifications & align to group & market requirements.
- Identify and suggest new / alternative products.
- Ensure correct Syspro fluid product descriptions and product grouping etc.
- Identify & continuous review of both local and foreign suppliers.
- Relationship building with both local and foreign suppliers.
- Forward planning with branch involvement and order placement of products ordered on group basis in line with approved stockholding limits.
- Maximise price, credit terms and transport/freight costs.
- Track both local and international pricing trends and review impact on current stock cost, orders placed and price lists.
- Monthly review of group/branches stock levels in line with agreed stock levels and realign where necessary.
- Monthly review of group/branches excess, slow moving, redundant and obsolete stock.
- Assist individual branches at supplier level with large enquiries.
Experience Required:
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the buying of Steel Pipes, Fittings and Flanges.
- Experienced in both local and international buying of fluid products.
- Excellent fluid product knowledge
- Advanced Excel computer skills are required and knowledge of Syspro would be advantageous.
