About the Role
The Earthmoving / Diesel Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability, and safety for our client’s mining operations in Northern Cape. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong background in earthmoving equipment maintenance and repair.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize a minimum of 3 years post-trade experience to perform breakdown maintenance on earthmoving and diesel-powered equipment.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance in accordance with company and OEM standards.
- Conduct accurate fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Requisition parts and materials required for repairs and ensure correct identification of spare parts.
- Complete all paperwork related to repairs, services, and inspections accurately and timeously.
- Maintain service records and provide feedback on breakdowns with Earthmoving Equipment teams.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure equipment is safe and compliant.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years post-trade experience in earthmoving equipment maintenance or diesel mechanics.
- Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate (Mandatory).
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- Valid Drivers License.
- Engineering N2 passed in a related field of trade.
