They are looking for a strong finance resource, with a minimum of four years of finance experience. A degree in finance is a requirement along with completed SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA articles with some post articles experience in a commerce role. Role description:

The Junior Finance Manager / Group Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company and its subsidiaries. This role includes ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing cash flow, preparing budgets, and handling all aspects of financial compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring financial integrity and supporting strategic business decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cash Flow Management and Forecasting

• Monitor and manage the company’s daily cash flow and liquidity.
• Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
• Identify potential shortfalls or surpluses and recommend appropriate actions.

Budgeting and Consolidated Budgets

• Develop and implement annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
• Consolidate budgets from all business units to provide a group-wide financial overview.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify variances with corrective action plans.

Financial Reporting and Full Finance Function

• Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Salaries and Payroll Management

• Oversee and manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labour laws.
• Reconcile payroll and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage employee benefit payments and statutory deductions.

VAT and Taxation

• Ensure timely and accurate VAT returns and payments.
• Handle tax compliance, including corporate tax and other statutory returns.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required.

Banking and Financial Liaison

• Establish and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Manage banking facilities, credit lines, and financial instruments.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts.

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Develop and implement strong internal financial controls.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Conduct periodic financial audits to assess and improve financial processes.

Remuneration:

• R360,000 R480,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
