About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced couple to join our team as Field Guide I Lodge Anchor Couple at Craven Cottage CC in Philippolis. As a key member of our lodge team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the lodge, including staff management, training, and development. You will also assist with marketing efforts, hosting duties, and ensuring the lodge maintains high standards of quality and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the lodge in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Oversee staff with the General Manager to ensure efficient operations
- Conduct guided safaris for international guests, including exclusive and photographic safaris
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of guests throughout their safari experience
- Host guests with professionalism and enthusiasm, providing informative and engaging insights
- Facilitate guest transfers to and from safari destination when required
- Create compelling content for social media platforms through still and video photography
- Assist with events planning and execution
- Manage the housekeeping and front office departments in conjunction with HOD
- Ensure the lodge maintains the required standards aesthetically
Requirements
- Grade 12
- A formal qualification will be an advantage
- At least 2+ years’ experience in a high-end lodge environment
- Valid RSA Driver’s License will be an advantage
- Computer literate
- Exceptional Guest Relations skills
- Ability to manage staff
- Understanding and ability to manage the different departments
- Ability to plan ahead and problem solve
- Financial experience in budget control, stock takes, and stock control
Qualifications
- Minimum FGASA Level 1 (NQF Level 2) qualification
- DEAT registration
- CATHSSETA registration
- First Aid Level 1 certification
- Rifle Competency for wildlife management and guest safety
