About the Role
Riseup Management is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. As a key member of our retail environment, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe space for our customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain store floors, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing
- Ensure all windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors are clean and streak-free
- Dust, wipe, and sanitize shelves, displays, and fixtures
- Maintain cleanliness of parking areas and outside premises
- Empty bins and ensure proper waste disposal in line with company standards
- Clean and sanitize high-touch areas regularly (e.g. door handles, counters)
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to management
- Ensure cleaning equipment is used correctly and stored safely
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ housekeeping/cleaning experience within a retail environment
- Good understanding of cleaning procedures and products
- Physically fit and able to perform manual duties
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and reliability
