Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Workshop Manager to lead our operations in Pietermaritzburg. If you have a strong background in steam boilers, pipe fitting, and welding, and are ready to take charge of a busy industrial workshop, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily workshop operations and ensure all work is completed efficiently and safely
- Supervise and manage a team of artisans and technicians
- Plan, schedule and allocate tasks based on project requirements
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Quality control of all fabrication and repair work
- Liaise with clients and project managers to ensure timely delivery of services
Requirements:
- Proven experience in steam boiler maintenance and repair
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in pipe fitting and welding techniques
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar supervisory or management role
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Relevant trade qualifications and certifications
