About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Head Chef to join our 5-star boutique hotel in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape. As part of a respected South African boutique hospitality group, we offer a unique opportunity for a talented and creative chef to lead our kitchen operations and contribute to the property’s culinary philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Full leadership of all kitchen operations across the hotel’s dining offering
- Menu development and seasonal changes aligned with the property’s culinary philosophy
- Procurement, supplier relationships and food cost management
- Kitchen brigade management, training and performance
- Maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
- Coordination of special events, private dining and VIP experiences
Requirements
- Formal culinary qualification from a recognised institution
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or senior Sous Chef in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
- Proven ability to develop and execute seasonal, locally inspired menus
- Strong knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen financial management
- Experience leading and developing a kitchen brigade
- Full HACCP compliance and food safety knowledge
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
