About the Role
We are seeking a Junior UI Designer to support internal and client-facing projects by creating, improving and applying modern UI and design systems. This is a new role, reporting to a Lead Designer, with mentorship and training provided. The successful candidate will have strong UI design skills and be proficient in Figma.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and apply UI design systems across live applications
- Design and improve user interfaces and user journeys
- Build prototypes and annotated designs in Figma
- Modernise existing applications and design UI from scratch where needed
- Support the Lead Designer with UI consistency and design admin tasks
Requirements
- Strong UI design skills
- Advanced Figma proficiency
- Experience creating and applying full design systems
- Prototyping experience
- Ability to explain and justify design decisions
- Strong visual attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Basic UX knowledge (wireframes, task flows, personas)
- Awareness of modern UI trends
- WordPress experience
Role Level & Environment
- Junior role with mentorship
- Hybrid working model (mostly remote, in-office once per week)
- Fast-paced, with changing briefs and ongoing iteration
- Requires self-discipline, accountability and comfort with feedback
