About the Role
The Maintenance Assistant role at Talent Link in Port Elizabeth involves performing a variety of tasks to support the smooth operation of our hospitality and property facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and contribute their skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks on equipment, facilities, and infrastructure
- Inspect all maintenance aspects when performing tasks to ensure work is completed correctly
- Identify maintenance issues and report them to management when necessary
- Engage qualified specialists for technical work outside the scope of basic handyman duties
- Use the correct tools and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored
- Assist with garden maintenance and irrigation system upkeep
- Record all materials and stock used on job cards for accurate budget allocation
- Complete stock control documentation and ensure proper stock handover procedures
- Assist with monthly stock taking and inventory checks
- Report completion of tasks to the Maintenance Manager
- Follow maintenance schedules and ensure tasks are completed within deadlines
- Communicate any deviations, delays, or issues to management promptly
