About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our quality assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring that motor vehicle components perform consistently to specification throughout their entire life cycle. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about quality and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage the Qualification Programme for new part introductions.
- Identify root causes of component deviations from specification and implement corrective and preventive actions throughout the product life cycle.
- Conduct testing and performance evaluations in line with applicable specifications and standards.
- Provide technical support and expertise on component material properties, functionality, and application.
- Drive design improvements to address complex or recurring component issues.
- Initiate and manage local and CKD supplier claims in line with group requirements.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical understanding of motor vehicle components and systems.
- Practical knowledge and application of quality tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications accurately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
