About the Role

The Admin Controller is a critical role that oversees the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring compliance with company procedures and maintaining high standards of administration and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily banking in conjunction with the Store Manager as per banking procedures
  • Balance cash ups with banking and maintain the drop safe
  • Check cash float and keep spare keys for floats in a safe place sealed in packets
  • Take full responsibility for the safe and its contents
  • Investigate and take corrective action for shortages or over-banking during cash ups
  • Control standard of administration and procedures, enforcing disciplines to maintain standards
  • Prepare requisitions to replenish stock
  • Complete daily morning filing duties as per procedures
  • Ensure all slips are signed with necessary signatures, including over-rides, voids, and refunds
  • Maintain up-to-date reports and address them on a daily basis
  • Authorize transactions at 5A level
  • Conduct spot checks on lay-byes and ensure they are checked by cashiers
  • Perform regular RTS (Returns and Refunds) checks
  • Conduct spot checks on cashiers
  • Control change daily
  • General filing of memos and correspondence
  • Data capture of stock received and sent from branch
  • Maintain cleanliness in back office and Cash Desk area
  • Return merchandise to the floor
  • Manage security of back office and front cash desk, ensuring tags are secured
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are met
  • Prevent shrinkage by implementing company processes and procedures

Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • NQF 5 Certificate in Retail/Business Administration
  • Valid Drivers License (Code 8 unendorsed preferred)
  • Computer Literate: Word and Excel
