About the Role
Join our innovative engineering team in Potchefstroom as a Field Service Technician, supporting advanced lithium battery systems used in underground mining locomotives. As a hands-on Electrical Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for solving complex electrical faults while ensuring optimal equipment performance in site-based, underground conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support advanced lithium battery systems used in underground mining locomotives
- Solve complex electrical faults and ensure optimal equipment performance
- Conduct site-based maintenance and repair of power electronic hardware
- Perform circuit simulation, control loop analysis, and performance optimisation
- Work closely with control, systems, and commissioning engineers to ensure compliance with electrical standards and grid-code requirements
Requirements
- BEng / BSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- 3 years experience in power electronics design or product support
- Strong understanding of medium–to high–power conversion systems
- Experience with simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, or PSpice)
- Practical experience with testing and troubleshooting power electronic hardware
