About the Role
As a Club Manager at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd, you will play a critical role in driving the operational and financial performance of our club, ensuring that we deliver exceptional experiences for our members. Your primary responsibility is to enable people to live an active life by managing all aspects of the club’s operations, including finance, facilities, and staff management.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Ensure revenue and EBITDA growth for the club, manage club operating expenses through P&L management, and reduce risk according to company standards.
- Facility Management: Manage operations, health & safety, and ensure procedures are followed according to business standards. Oversee maintenance and utilities effectiveness and costs.
- People Management: Recruit, develop, and train staff, communicate effectively with all club staff, implement policies and procedures, and manage performance across departments.
- Service Experience: Implement and sustain a strong member focus, provide solutions to members on queries and complaints in line with company policy, and ensure excellent customer service according to brand standards.
- Competitor Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of the competitor landscape, notify senior management of potential risk, and understand how to mitigate competitor risk.
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent (NQF level 4)
- Previous managerial experience at Club General Manager level with a successful track record and strong leadership skills
- Completion of internal Learn to Fly programme
- Financial proficiency and good financial acumen
- Business owner approach
- Solid understanding of the market, competition, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good customer relations and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record working within an ever-changing and pressurized environment
