About the Role
Ergasia Placements is seeking a Collections Agent to join our team in Pretoria East. As a Collections Agent, you will be responsible for contacting customers regarding outstanding accounts and negotiating payment arrangements. If you have excellent communication skills and are willing to work flexible hours, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers regarding outstanding accounts via telephone, email, SMS, and other communication channels
- Negotiate payment arrangements and confirm payment commitments
- Follow up on overdue accounts and broken payment arrangements
- Accurately update customer records and account notes
- Handle customer queries and disputes professionally
- Explain arrears, balances, interest, and account status to customers
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Escalate unresolved matters where necessary
- Manage follow-ups and account administration efficiently
- Send reminders, settlement letters, and related correspondence
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate (compulsory)
- Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
- Clear criminal and credit record
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays if required
