Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of agricultural products from farms to storage facilities or distribution centers
- Monitor and track the movement of products to ensure timely delivery and minimize shipping costs
- Communicate with farmers, suppliers, and transportation providers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Manage inventory levels and ensure that products are stored properly to maintain quality and freshness
- Handle any shipping or transportation issues that may arise, such as delays or damaged goods
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in the transportation and storage of agricultural products
- Analyze transportation and storage costs to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, and transportation providers to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or
a related field. - Proven experience in the logistics environment (3 years).
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, shipping and
import procedures would be advantageous. - Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Home Language must be Afrikaans
