About The Company The Company is a global leader in the automotive and industrial sectors, renowned for our innovation in emission control systems, towbars, and precision steel tubing. With over 70 years of heritage in South Africa, our Pretoria-based facilities are at the cutting edge of manufacturing excellence, supplying both the OEM and Aftermarket sectors. We are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Millwright to join our maintenance team and ensure our world-class production lines operate at peak efficiency. The Role As a Millwright you will be responsible for the dual-disciplinary maintenance (mechanical and electrical) of our specialized automotive manufacturing equipment. This includes robotic welding cells, tube mills, hydraulic presses, and automated assembly lines. Your primary goal is to minimize downtime through proactive preventative maintenance and rapid fault-finding. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs: Perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs on production machinery, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fault-find on PLC-controlled systems (e.g., Siemens/Beckhoff) and robotic units to ensure continuous production flow. Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance plans to OEM standards to extend equipment lifespan and prevent breakdown. Installation: Assist in the installation, commissioning, and leveling of new machinery and equipment upgrades. Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to OHS Act regulations, ensuring all machinery is safety-guarded and following Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures. Welding & Fabrication: Utilize welding (CO2/Argon) and basic machining skills for the repair or fabrication of machine components. Reporting: Complete job cards, root cause analysis (RCA) reports, and maintain accurate records of spare parts usage. Minimum Requirements Qualification: Valid Red Seal Millwright Trade Test Certificate (Section 13 or 26D). Education: N3N6 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience: Minimum 35 years post-trade experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment (Automotive or Steel industry experience is highly advantageous). Technical Skills: * Strong proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes. Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints. Experience with PLC fault-finding and automated sensors. Competencies: Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and be on standby. High attention to detail and a “first-time-right” mindset.
