Our client operates a high-end, luxury safari lodge situated in a diverse South African ecosystem. They are dedicated to conservation excellence and providing guests with immersive, world-class wildlife experiences. This permanent position is designed for a versatile professional who excels as both a Field Guide and a leader. You will deliver exceptional interpretive safaris while also stepping into a management capacity to oversee lodge operations during relief periods. Key Responsibilities Conduct twice-daily game drives and guided walks with a focus on the Big 5, birdlife, and endangered species. Provide high-level storytelling and interpretive guiding to enhance the guest experience. Host guests during meals and activities, ensuring luxury service standards are met. Step into a leadership role during management leave, overseeing daily lodge operations and staff coordination. Supervise housekeeping, maintenance, and guiding teams during relief periods. Maintain safari vehicles and equipment, assisting with basic lodge or farm maintenance when required. Handle guest queries, special requests, and operational reporting with a solutions-driven approach. Requirements Experience: 35 years in a luxury safari lodge environment. Qualifications: FGASA Level 2 (Level 4 advantageous). Registrations: Valid DEAT/NDT registration and a clear criminal record. Certifications: Valid First Aid Certificate and Lead Rifle Handling (ARH). Licensing: Valid Code 8 or 10 Drivers License with Professional Driving Permit (PDP). Skills: Strong birding knowledge, interpretive guiding skills, and proven off-road driving experience. Attributes A guest-first mindset with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities. Adaptable and comfortable living and working in a remote bush environment.
