Sandton: Channel and Sales Lead

Job Description

Support and execute channel strategies to drive sales growth, manage pipelines, coordinate promotions, and leverage insights to expand distribution and deliver commercial results across key accounts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Channel Strategy Execution: Support implementation of strategies across retail, distribution, and e-commerce. Align channel initiatives with business and marketing objectives. Identify growth opportunities using data and market insights. Channel Partner Support: Assist with day-to-day partner and internal communications. Prepare Joint Business Planning materials and performance reviews. Track commitments and follow up on customer engagement actions. Promotional Planning & Execution: Coordinate promotional and trading calendars. Ensure effective execution of promotional activities with Sales and Marketing. Track and evaluate promotional performance. Product Distribution & Visibility: Provide insights to improve distribution and visibility. Support creation of selling stories, presentations, and listing proposals. Monitor product availability and distribution gaps. Performance Analysis & Reporting: Track sales, sell-out, promotional performance, and distribution metrics. Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports. Analyse trends, opportunities, and risks. Market & Competitive Insights: Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and channel developments. Gather insights to support channel strategy. Highlight emerging opportunities within key channels. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs): Market share and revenue growth Execution excellence of promotions and activities Accurate and timely reporting of channel performance Improved product availability and distribution Effective collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and partners REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 35 years in Sales, Trade Marketing, or Channel roles Experience in sales pipeline management, customer engagement, and retail/distribution Consumer goods industry experience preferred Strong understanding of trade and in-market execution KEY COMPETENCIES: – Strong sales acumen: ability to identify and close opportunities – Knowledge of pricing, promotions, and trade levers – Results-driven, revenue-focused – Strong planning and execution skills – Data-driven; converts insights into action – High attention to detail – Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – Builds trust with customers and stakeholders – Proactive, hands-on, self-driven – Strong ownership mindset – Thrives in a fast-paced environment
