About the Role

The Country Club in Bryanston is seeking a highly motivated and sports-oriented Racquets Pavilion Manager to oversee their racquets hub, offering 8 tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, 4 squash courts, and 3 state-of-the-art padel courts. As part of an exciting new project with cutting-edge facilities, we are looking for a candidate who can provide exceptional management and organisational skills to ensure the smooth operation of the racquets pavilion.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan day-to-day operations of the racquets pavilion, including maintenance and cleaning.
• Manage racquets facilities, oversee court bookings, court utilisation, and general operations.
• Manage sales and rental of equipment, as well as equipment required for area maintenance.
• Work with management to ensure accurate accounting of income and expenditure.
• Supervise assigned staff in the check-in and Food & Beverage areas, reporting any F&B issues to the Pavilion restaurant manager.
• Provide information and service to members and their guests about available facilities and activities.
• Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for members and their guests.
• Organise private and club activations and events, as well as social events for racquet sports.
• Design and deliver programmes across all racquets sports to attract new players and maximise court utilisation.
• Establish induction processes to help players extend their activity and introduce members and their guests to racquet sports.
• Promote rules and regulations of the courts and facility for safety and welfare of guests and members.
• Observe activity in the recreational facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedures in the event of an emergency.
• Open and close the Racquets pavilion.

Requirements

• Grade 12 Degree or Diploma in Sports Management or Sports Marketing, or equivalent.
• At least 3-5 years experience in sports management or sports marketing.
• Excellent fitness levels and actively participate in sports.
• Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
• Vibrant personality.
• Strong administrative ability (maintains asset registers, stock counts etc.).
• Friendly, calm, and approachable demeanour.
• Passionate about expanding all racquet sports.
• Organised, proactive, and able to multitask.
• Problem solving.
• Innovative, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering a high standard of service.
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and in writing).
• Possess strong knowledge of the rules of tennis, squash, and padel, with the ability to provide direction to players and organise/run tournaments.
