Requirements
– Tertiary or professional qualification in Personal Lines Short Term Insurance Underwriting
– Matriculation
– RE 5 Certification
– Full FAIS Qualification with Class of Business in Personal Lines
– Up-to-date CPD Points
**Experience**
– Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Personal Lines Insurance
**Role Purpose**
– Provide exceptional service and quotations for clients’ personal short-term insurance requirements
– Set and maintain standards for personalised service
**Key Responsibilities**
– Service and provide quotations for existing portfolios
– Assist clients by phone, taking instructions, and confirming them in writing
– Complete voice logging system with client’s surname and reason for call
– Attend to written instructions for additions or deletions to existing policies, and confirm in writing
– Capture changes on the system, generate schedules and debit/credit notes, and send to the client with a covering letter
– Maintain a diary of outstanding information/documentation and follow up regularly via telephone, email, fax, or SMS
– Delete warranties and adjust premiums if discounts were given for a tracking device or limited kilometres, and documentation/information is not received after 3 follow-ups
– Advise clients on proper insurance coverage and maintain necessary working notes
– Make notes on EDS files regarding follow-up on diary
– Contact clients who request cancellation to understand the reason and offer alternative options to retain them
– Flag any client-specific issues related to loss of income or poor service levels
– Confirm all advice, telephonic discussions, and client discussions in writing
– Handle Renewals, New Business, Re-insurance, and Credit Control
