About the Role
This is a hands-on operational leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge of UF, NF and RO membrane systems within a mining environment. The successful candidate will be required to reside close to site and may need to relocate to ensure effective day-to-day plant oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Full operational management of the water treatment plant
- Ensure optimal performance of Ultrafiltration (UF), Nanofiltration (NF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane systems
- Manage the treatment of acidic mine water to potable standards
- Oversee plant operations running in a continuous/24-hour environment
- Lead and manage operations and maintenance teams
- Monitor plant KPIs, production output, water quality and compliance standards
- Implement preventative and corrective maintenance strategies
- Control plant budgets, operating costs, stock and chemical procurement
- Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations
Requirements
Engineering Degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil) or relevant qualification in Water / Environmental Engineering
Minimum 10 years experience in water treatment operations
At least 35 years in a plant or operations management role
Proven experience with:
- UF, NF and RO membrane systems
- Acid mine drainage (AMD) treatment
- Potable water production
- 24/7 plant operations
- Budget and cost control
