NEW Lodge Management Vacancy Greater Hoedspruit (Limpopo) ? ? Assistant Lodge Manager 5 Star Luxury Safari Camp Hoedspruit Area Live-in Role | R38,000 R40,000 per month (Negotiable DOE) | 21 days on / 7 days off Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Assistant Lodge Manager for a busy 5 star luxury safari lodge in the Greater Hoedspruit area. This is a senior, hands-on operational role supporting the Lodge Manager and acting as Lodge Manager in their absence, with full oversight across Front of House, Housekeeping, Maintenance, HR, Finance, and Health & Safety. Key Responsibilities Front of House (FOH) Leadership Lead and motivate the FOH team, ensuring world-class guest experiences Oversee daily FOH admin, including day sheets, rooming lists, arrivals, reception, curio shop, and switchboard Manage guest feedback processes and ensure service recovery is handled professionally Housekeeping Standards Lead the housekeeping team and uphold immaculate lodge standards Conduct room and turndown spot checks and oversee uniform control Maintenance Oversight Lead and supervise the lodge maintenance team, with strong preventative maintenance focus Work closely with reserve maintenance, ensuring accommodation and guest areas are maintained to standard Solid working understanding of building, refrigeration, electricity, air-conditioning, gardening, pool care, fire equipment, vehicles and pest control Health & Safety Coordinate health and safety management, including risk assessments and safety committees Ensure fire equipment and drills are in place and a safe working environment is maintained Finance & HR Support Assist with budgeting, expenditure control, and monthly reporting Support HR functions, including staff development, training, morale, discipline, leave cycles, and training files Strong hosting ability, guest delight focus, and support with bush banqueting when required Candidate Profile This role suits a detail-driven; guest-focused leader with strong admin ability, a passion for people development, and solid operational discipline. You must be confident working under pressure, building relationships with repeat guests and stakeholders, and maintaining exceptional standards daily. Requirements Minimum 5 years management experience in a 5 star lodge environment (boutique / Big 5) Hospitality Management qualification Strong operational and financial experience Room Division experience essential Practical maintenance understanding advantageous High emotional intelligence and strong service training ability Fluent English (spoken and written) with strong communication skills Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport essential Must be able to work in a live-in, remote lodge environment Important Notes Due to the nature of this live-in role and accommodation structure, no dependants, pets, or children can be accommodated . The employer has indicated an age guideline of approximately 2646 for operational fit. The employer has indicated a preference regarding employment equity profile; all recruitment will remain compliant with South African labour law and fair hiring practices.
