About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Assistant Lodge Manager to join a 5* luxury hospitality property in the Western Cape coastal region. The ideal candidate will support the General Manager and Lodge Managers in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of luxury hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure exceptional guest service and satisfaction at all times
- Personally welcome arriving guests and engage with guests daily
- Manage guest feedback and resolve complaints promptly and professionally
- Build strong guest relationships to encourage repeat visits
- Oversee the daily operations of the lodge to ensure seamless service delivery
- Coordinate activities between departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and guiding teams
- Ensure lodge facilities, guest areas, and public spaces meet 5-star standards at all times
- Monitor inventory and support procurement processes
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Front-of-House staff
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing staff training
- Foster a professional, respectful, and motivated working environment
- Support HR processes, including staff development and discipline where required
- Ensure consistent service standards during breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and guest dietary requirements
- Conduct daily service briefings and debriefings
- Conduct daily lodge inspections to maintain luxury standards
- Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support sustainability and eco-friendly practices in operations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of lodge operations
- Implement innovative ideas to enhance guest experiences and lodge offerings
Requirements
- Relevant supervisory / management experience – high-end 4 / 5* star lodge / camp / hotel
- Food and beverage understanding and experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Clear criminal record; Excellent employment track record references will be verified
- Excellent English fluency & literacy
- Computer literate
- 2 5 years relevant experience in hospitality management
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) not specified
Salary & Benefits
- Gross salary of R22 R27, 000.00 p/m, NEG. DOE and experience
- All staff shares in a central tip fund, distributed monthly
- Provident fund package: 10% of gross salary (50/50 contribution) towards Group life insurance, Income disability, Funeral benefit, retirements savings & relevant consulting/admin fees
- Medical: Partial company contribution of R250.00 to a medical aid of the staff members choice
- Uniform provided
- Discretionary bonus (Generally in November & March)
- Work/Off cycle: 8 days off per month (Split accordingly throughout the month) + 15 annual leave days
- Working hours: Early Shift: 06h30 16h30 / Late Shift: 12h00 22h00. Hours may vary according to operational requirements

Onsite accommodation is currently available, inclusive of utilities and Wi-Fi, at an approximate cost of R3, 500.00 to R4, 500.00 per month.
