About the Role
SydSen Recruit is seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury resort in South Africa. As the lead pastry chef, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative pastry and dessert menus, managing daily operations, and leading a team of pastry chefs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the pastry team and daily operations
- Design and develop innovative pastry and dessert menus
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation
- Manage ordering, stock control, and cost management
- Train, mentor, and develop junior pastry staff
Requirements
- Senior-level pastry experience in luxury hotels/resorts
- Proven experience leading a pastry team
- Strong creativity in dessert and pastry menu development
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP
- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
- Good English proficiency
