About the Role

We are seeking a talented and innovative Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a wine-focused gastronomic restaurant and wine bar in Kenya. This live-in position offers an attractive package and the opportunity to work in a premium, wine-led dining environment. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients and pair perfectly with our extensive wine list.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage kitchen operations and ensure seamless service delivery during peak hours
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing kitchen team to achieve operational excellence
  • Develop and implement innovative menu concepts that incorporate locally sourced produce from the greenhouse
  • Collaborate with the events team to create memorable dining experiences for guests, including chef’s tables and wine dinners

Requirements

  • Strong background in wine-focused gastronomy, with proven experience pairing food and wine at a high standard
  • Ability to innovate seasonally while managing costs and maintaining operational excellence
  • Leadership skills and experience in building and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Confidence in engaging with guests during events such as chef’s tables and wine dinners

Qualifications

  • Strong background in hospitality management or culinary arts (not necessarily related to wineries or vineyards)

Salary & Benefits

  • USD 3,000 gross per month (negotiable depending on experience)
  • Live-in accommodation included
  • Additional benefits may include housing, health insurance, gratuities, and relocation support where applicable

About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and innovative Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a wine-focused gastronomic restaurant and wine bar in Kenya.   • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and plating for all menu items
  • Collaborate with the restaurant’s wine expert to create pairing suggestions and manage wine inventory

Requirements

  • Strong background in wine-focused gastronomy, with proven experience pairing food and wine at a high standard
  • Ability to build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing kitchen team
  • Experience in sustainability, local sourcing, and farm-to-fork integration
  • Confidence in engaging with guests during events such as chef’s tables and wine dinners
