About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a meticulous and systems-driven Inventory Controller for a renowned luxury game lodge within the Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga, forming part of a well-regarded South African hospitality group. This is a senior, detail-intensive role covering all stock-holding departments across the lodge.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily stock movements across all lodge departments and ensure full SOP compliance
- Verify all transactions including Purchase Orders, GRNs, transfers, wastage, credits and issues
- Reject and correct inaccuracies before daily cut-off
- Maintain accurate item master data, UOM, cost and VAT categorisation
- Reconcile POS sales against inventory depletion across bar, spa retail and curated retail
- Investigate all consumption discrepancies same-day
- Lead mid-month and month-end stock counts, ensuring blind counts for high-risk areas
- Compile full month-end reporting packs including opening and closing balances, purchases, issues, transfers, wastage and variance reports
- Validate purchasing requests against departmental budgets, PAR levels and ROP settings
- Oversee GRN accuracy and three-way matching (PO, delivery note and invoice)
- Confirm all supplier credits are correctly raised and reconciled
- Maintain full separation of duties across request, capture, approval and issue
- Keep complete digital document trails across all inventory transactions
- Enforce physical controls including locked storage, key registers and access control
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management or a related field
- Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience in hospitality inventory or stock management – luxury lodge experience essential
- Hands-on experience with MyStock, MyInventory, Sage Inventory or similar systems
- Strong understanding of lodge operations across F&B, Housekeeping, Spa and Retail
- Solid experience with POS systems (TallOrder or similar)
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with high accuracy and disciplined follow-through
