South Africa: Maintenance Manager posted by Hire Resolve

leading manufacturer in the beverage sector is seeking a hands-on and experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team at their production facility based in Afghanistan.

This role requires a dynamic individual who will be actively involved in production line installations, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance. It is not office-based, and the successful candidate must be fully engaged on the factory floor with a proactive, problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of skilled maintenance personnel in a high-speed beverage manufacturing environment

• Oversee daily plant maintenance operations to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance systems and procedures

• Actively participate in the installation and commissioning of new production lines

• Ensure adherence to strict health and safety regulations, as well as non-alcoholic beverage production standards

• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and automation systems

• Maintain critical spares and oversee procurement of maintenance materials

• Liaise closely with production and engineering departments to ensure smooth coordination

Requirements:

• 1520 years of experience in the beverage manufacturing industry is essential

• Fitter trade qualification or a trade in electrical/automation is required

• Strong hands-on experience with line installations and maintenance of bottling machinery

• Willingness to commit to a minimum 2-year contract

• Strictly no alcohol

• Must be able to work in-country unaccompanied this position does not allow for family relocation

• Must be physically fit and able to work in a demanding, hands-on environment

• Strong leadership and communication skills
