About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Pastry Chef De Partie to join our team at a prestigious restaurant in Constantia, South Africa. As part of our fine dining establishment, you will be responsible for creating a wide range of delectable desserts and pastries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce a variety of morning and daytime pastries, artisan breads, light lunch desserts, and sophisticated dinner desserts.
- Develop and execute innovative plating concepts and detailed plating components.
- Manage food cost and GP’s for the section, including creating new desserts and costings.
- Lead and delegate to junior Pastry Team members (1 Demi CDP & 1 Trainee).
- Maintain high standards of quality and presentation in all pastry production.
Requirements
- Focused pastry qualification
- At least 4 years’ experience within dessert fine dining a la carte
- Advanced dessert techniques for detailed plating components and innovative plating concepts
Qualifications
- Formal education/certification in pastry arts (e.g. Baking & Pastry Arts, CDP)
