Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) – essential
- Electrical qualification, NQF certificate, or relevant technical training – advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
- Willingness to travel locally for client visits
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems
- Sales revenue and margin targets
- New customer acquisition
- Customer retention and satisfaction
- Accuracy of quotations and orders
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, solar PV, inverters, and batteries
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Customer-focused with a consultative sales approach
- Ability to work independently and manage own sales pipeline.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ sales experience in:
- Electrical products
- Solar panels, inverters, or renewable energy solutions
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets
- Experience dealing with contractors, installers, or technical clients
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Promote and sell electrical, solar, inverter, and energy storage solutions to commercial, industrial, and residential clients
- Identify and develop new customers while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets
- Prepare and present professional quotations, proposals, and product demonstrations
Technical & Product Support
- Provide technical guidance to customers on:
- Solar PV systems
- Inverters (hybrid, off-grid, grid-tied)
- Batteries and backup power solutions
- Electrical components and compliance requirements
- Conduct site visits where required to assess client needs
- Liaise with technical teams to ensure correct system design and installation feasibility
Customer Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with installers, contractors, developers, and end users
- Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues timeously
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions
Market & Industry Awareness
- Stay updated on solar and electrical industry trends, product developments, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor competitor activity and identify growth opportunities.
