About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Head Guide to lead our guiding team at a luxury Big 5 game lodge in Pilanesberg, North West. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional wildlife experiences and ensuring top-tier guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the guiding department and daily operations
  • Conduct game drives and guided bush walks to a high standard
  • Ensure guest safety and exceptional experiences at all times
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior guides
  • Maintain guiding vehicles, firearms, and equipment
  • Oversee guiding schedules and team performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and lodge procedures
  • Uphold conservation principles and ethical guiding practices
  • Work closely with lodge management to enhance guest experience

Requirements

  • RSA ID and legal residence essential
  • FGASA Level 2 (or higher) preferred
  • Lead Trails Guide qualification essential
  • Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) certification required
  • Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit) required
  • Valid First Aid certification required
  • Proven experience as a Senior / Head Guide in a Big 5 environment
