Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Communication, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ professional writing experience
- Experience in Technical Writing, Proposal Writing, Bid Writing, Tender Writing, Grant Writing, Research Writing, Policy Writing, Legal Writing, Medical Writing, Journalism, or similar professional writing environments
- Excellent written English with exceptional grammar, editing, proofreading, and communication skills
- Strong research and information-gathering abilities
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience using document collaboration and version-control tools
- Experience with technical documentation, user manuals, SOPs, work instructions, or product documentation advantageous
- Experience responding to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, tenders, bids, or procurement documentation advantageous
- Experience within technology, engineering, software, SaaS, telecommunications, infrastructure, or public sector environments advantageous
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, or similar documentation tools advantageous
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- Valid South African passport or ability to obtain one
- Reliable transport and ability to work from the Bellville office daily
- Willingness to work adjusted hours to collaborate with international teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, including:
- User guides
- Installation manuals
- Quick-start guides
- Product documentation
- Training materials
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Work instructions
- Research, gather, validate, and organise technical information from subject matter experts and stakeholders
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content
- Identify documentation gaps and develop new content where required
- Prepare and submit responses to:
- Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Requests for Quotations (RFQs)
- Tender submissions
- Procurement opportunities
- Draft executive summaries, technical methodologies, proposal responses, and supporting documentation
- Review, proofread, edit, and fact-check all documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance
- Build and maintain a structured bid response and proposal content library
- Manage document templates, content repositories, and version control processes
- Support continuous improvement of documentation standards and knowledge management systems
- Collaborate with engineering, product, technical, and business teams to develop accurate content
- Ensure consistency in branding, terminology, formatting, and tone across all written materials
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards
