About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Hub Ambassador to join our team at Chrysalis Academy in Mitchells Plain/Khayelitsha. As a key member of our community-based initiative, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing daily activities for our youth hub, facilitating workshops, and providing support to our graduates and hub members.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and implement the Chrysalis Academy Youth Hub daily activities in communities.
- Facilitate workshops in communities (fitness programmes, work readiness, computer skills, etc.).
- Regular check-ins with graduates and hub members in Mitchells Plain/Khayelitsha.
- Plan, coordinate and implement community service projects.
- Recruitment of interested youth who wish to join the Academy’s 3-month residential programme.
- Regular monitoring and tracking of the Academy’s graduates.
- Sourcing of employment or training opportunities for graduates and hub members in the community.
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Minimum 3-years experience in youth development (particularly working within communities).
- A valid drivers licence is advantageous.
- Sound computer literacy and report writing skills.
- Non-smoker with sober habits.
- Reside in Mitchells Plain/ Khayelitsha for at least 4 years.
Qualifications
- Completed Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-years experience in youth development (particularly working within communities).
