About the Role
We are seeking a friendly and experienced Receptionist / Switchboard Operator to join our team at a luxury estate located close to Stellenbosch. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, manage phone calls, and maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests to the reception area with kindness, warmth, and sincerity
- Guide guests to various outlets and respond to general enquiries
- Conduct estate tours with guests
- Operate telephone and switchboard service for all calls
- Refer calls and provide assistance to the appropriate person depending on the nature of the call
- Maintain a register of bookings and reservations and communicate with the Security department
- Compile and update data related to the area of activity
- Complete and distribute information that needs to be communicated around the estate
- Correct and update electronic telephone directory
- Ensure lunch and dinner booking sheets from the restaurant get communicated to the appropriate departments
- Keep management informed of all concerns that guests raise
- Hand over lost property to the Security manager
Requirements
- Grade 12 Hospitality certificate
- Preferably 1- 2 years previous reception/switchboard operator experience
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer-service skills
- Fluent in English with excellent written & oral communication skills
- Able to work in a team
- Good computer skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
