About the Role
Sagen Advisory is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join our team in Stellenbosch. We offer CIMA and SAIPA training contracts to graduates and postgraduates who have completed a Finance and Accounting degree at an accredited institution. Our firm provides professional services across the Western and Southern Cape region, focusing on small and medium-sized businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce client reports
- Perform accounting work
- Administrative duties
- Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc.
- Handling of VAT and PAYE reviews
- Invoicing and debtors collection
- IRP5 calculations, reconciliations and submissions
- Liaison with clients
- Maintenance of SARS accounts
- PAYE/UIF/SDL calculations and EMP201 submissions
- Registration and deregistration for Income Tax, PAYE, VAT and Import and Export licenses
- Tax clearance applications
- UIF registration and administration
- VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions
- WCA registrations, submission of returns and arranging letters of good standing
Requirements
- BAccounting, BCom Accounting, BCom Management Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, or equivalent
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Drivers license and own transport
