About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our manufacturing team in Tulbagh, responsible for ensuring efficient production planning and execution, leading teams, and maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee the manufacturing process from raw material intake to finished goods output and dispatch
- Ensure production schedules are executed according to sales demand, MRP, capacity, and operational priorities
- Allocate labour, equipment, and resources effectively to meet output and delivery target
- Lead, coach, develop, and manage production Supervisors, Foremen, Line Leaders and teams
- Confirm and manage man assignments according to production requirements
- Manage and improve production performance against agreed KPI’s including output, yield, downtime, OTIF, OEE, waste, labour efficiency, and conversion cost
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, hygiene, HACCP, legal and company requirements at all times
- Maintain a safe working environment and promote zero harm in all areas of responsibility
- Manage production costs in line with budget and business expectations
- Ensure effective utilization and preservation of fixed assets and equipment

- Work closely with planning, procurement, logistics, quality, maintenance, finance, HR, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Production Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology or a related field
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / Operational Excellence training will be advantageous
- Relevant world-class manufacturing or leadership development certification will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 year’s experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in food production / FMCG / packaging / processing environment will be advantageous
