About the Role
The Project Coordinator (Automotive) position is a critical role in managing projects within the Automotive sector, requiring a strong background in mechanical engineering and project management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of new projects, ensuring smooth launch and meeting quality control objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with business and customers regarding project needs, including localisation of products.
- Develop and maintain overall project control, including in-house re-grinding and internal localization.
- Manage company project master schedules for new projects.
- Calculate costs and establish feasibility studies for new projects.
- Engage with customers to understand requirements, assess feasibility, and provide recommendations to management.
- Act as primary interface with customers for pre-production requests.
- Set Quality Control and Delivery (QCD) targets and evaluate results.
- Lead OBEYA meetings and manage cross-functional teams to monitor milestones.
- Track and evaluate project progress with relevant departments.
- Monitor drawing and design changes ECIs and distribute to relevant departments.
- Establish links with HQ and other subsidiaries for support and best practices.
- Support requirements of QMS systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
- Conduct project close-out reporting and make recommendations for future projects.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or relevant qualification.
- Min 5 years work experience in managing projects within the Automotive sector.
- OEM experience in manufacturing environment.
- MS Office with Intermediate Excel skills.
