About the Role
Objective Personnel is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead medium to large-scale construction projects in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or project management and a proven track record of managing complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage construction projects within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
- Develop and implement method statements and Quality Control Plans in line with project and industry standards.
- Create and manage detailed schedules using MS Projects, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
- Maintain effective document control systems for accurate and traceable project records.
- Engage and coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities to ensure clear communication and successful delivery.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, track costs, and report on financial performance.
- Ensure timeous completion of project phases and final handover.
- Administer projects under NEC contracts, ensuring compliance and effective change management.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, developing and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Lead negotiations on contracts, pricing, and variations with suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Engineering or Project Management related degree or diploma
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in construction project management
- Proven experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects
- Solid understanding of NEC contracts, construction methods, and regulatory frameworks
- Proficient in MS Projects, MS Office, and document control systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Qualifications
Professional registration with PMP and or SACPCMP (Pr. CPM) is required.
