Job Requirements

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
• Post-basic qualification in Critical Care (General) is advantageous
• At least 2–3 years’ ICU experience as a Registered Nurse
• Proficiency in ventilator management (essential)
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when needed

Flexible and able to support other departments when required

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, and other interventional procedures.
• Assist cardiologists and the clinical team during invasive cardiac procedures.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, administer medications, and manage emergencies effectively.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
• Operate and monitor relevant equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and ensure adherence to hospital policies and best practices.
• Participate in continuous professional development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a Cath Lab environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Proven knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and interventional procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, standby, and overtime when required
