About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to lead our Credit Risk function, combining strategic oversight with hands-on technical delivery. As a key leadership position, you will drive team performance, enhance credit processes, and contribute to our broader credit strategy while maintaining a strong focus on risk management and turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Origination & Structuring: Contribute to pre-credit discussions, assist with structuring solutions, and manage deal flow and resource allocation to optimise turnaround times
- Credit Assessment & Review: Oversee the quality of credit applications across the team, providing guidance on complex transactions and ensuring consistency in submissions
- Credit Analysis: Analyse financial statements, assess industry dynamics and market trends, and evaluate overall creditworthiness
- Application Preparation: Compile and present clear, well-structured credit papers, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships across Credit, Front Office, Legal, and other internal teams
- Post-Approval Execution: Liaise with legal and compliance teams to ensure the accurate implementation of approved transactions
- Risk Management: Maintain awareness of the broader credit environment and incorporate this into decision-making and recommendations
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop team members, including onboarding, training, and continuous upskilling
- Ad Hoc Support: Assist with reporting, data management, and broader credit-related projects
- Client Interaction: Occasionally engage in client visits alongside deal or portfolio teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. CA(SA), CFA, CIMA, or MBA) advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in credit risk within a commercial or corporate environment
- Solid understanding of the National Credit Act
