Job Summary

Duties and responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Enterprise Data Integration Consolidating data across the enterprise into a single source of truth through modern data warehousing and lakehouse architectures. Business Intelligence Enablement Developing and maintaining enterprise-level analytics to support the monitoring and optimization of key business functions such as Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Project Management, and Engineering. Applied Machine Learning for Equipment Monitoring Designing and deploying machine learning models within web applications to enable predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, failure prediction, and estimation of the remaining useful life (RUL) of spare parts. Stakeholder Engagement and Ad Hoc Analytics Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address data-driven inquiries and support project-specific analysis related to equipment performance and operational efficiency. Insight Communication and Data Storytelling Delivering presentations and effectively communicating analytical insights to a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring that data-driven strategies are clearly understood and actionable. Technical Skills Data Engineering & Integration Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse) – advantageous Experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines) Strong knowledge of Kimball dimensional modelling (star vs. snowflake schema) SQL (T-SQL, M code) Data ingestion from various sources (ERP, On-prem and Cloud databases, CRM, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.) Knowledge of Data Gateways for on-prem data and cloud resources integration. Knowledge of Databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) Machine Learning & Advanced Analytics Python (primary), R (optional), Spark (beneficial) Time series forecasting (e.g., ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, etc.) – Descriptive and Inferential Statistics Predictive Maintenance Modelling: failure prediction, anomaly detection, RUL estimation ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn Model Deployment using Azure Machine Learning, Azure Functions, or AKS Business Intelligence Strong skills in Power BI (Data Modelling, M Code, DAX, dashboards) Experience answering ad hoc queries and interpreting complex datasets Ability to perform root cause analysis and correlation studies on equipment performance Software & Cloud Development Advantageous Familiarity with REST APIs and microservices for integrating ML models into web applications. Understanding of web app deployment and hosting on Azure App Services Supply Chain & Inventory Analytics Advantageous Understanding of inventory control, demand planning, working capital optimization Experience with inventory optimization models (e.g., EOQ, reorder point models, ABC analysis) Soft Skills Strategic thinking Ability to align data science efforts with business objectives and operational goals Strong communication skills Capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Cross-functional collaboration Working with operations, supply chain, field engineers, and IT teams Adaptability Ability to shift between long-term projects (like ML models) and short-term needs (like ad hoc analysis) Curiosity and initiative Willing to explore new data sources and continuously improve solutions Project management skills Managing timelines, scoping, and stakeholder expectations Resilience under uncertainty Working with incomplete data, evolving business needs, or experimental equipment QUALIFICATION Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field EXPERIENCE 1-3 years experience within a data science environment, preferably with mining and mineral processing experience or supply chain experience

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive modelling, simulation, and optimisation techniques to identify trends and opportunities. Evaluate new data sources and enhance data collection procedures to improve analytic capabilities. Build and communicate data-driven solutions using visualisation techniques. Design advanced analytics and machine learning models to address business challenges. Stay current with advancements in analytics technologies and methodologies. Act as a technical expert in machine learning tools, techniques, and programming languages. Mentor and coach junior team members. Present analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management. Identify and prioritise business problems where analytics can drive measurable improvements. Collaborate across departments to gather requirements and ensure relevant data sources are used. Support the development and maintenance of analytic infrastructure including databases, BI tools, and modelling platforms. Migrate existing on-premise solutions to the cloud and ensure model stability and performance. Promote data-driven decision-making and build buy-in across the business. Required Experience and Skills: 46 years of relevant experience in analytics or data science. Proficient in big data analytics, statistical modelling, and programming. Experience with machine learning models such as classification, regression, anomaly detection, and neural networks. Strong skills in Python, SQL Server, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint; Azure experience is advantageous. Knowledge of API integration in Python. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Educational Requirements: Matric certificate. Degree in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science. Specialised qualification or degree in Data Science.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Perform statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling, simulation, and optimization. Assess new data sources and improve data collection techniques to support analytic systems. Design and implement advanced analytics models to uncover business opportunities and drive performance improvements. Communicate analytical findings through data visualization and reporting to business stakeholders. Provide technical expertise in machine learning, cloud technologies, and APIs. Support migration of on-premise solutions to the cloud and maintain existing models. Coach and mentor junior data scientists and analysts. Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities and drive adoption of data science solutions. Ensure infrastructure and tools (databases, BI tools, modeling software) meet analytical requirements. Monitor model performance and build structures to track usage and effectiveness. Required Skills and Experience: 46 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in data analytics, including big data, statistical modeling, and database mining. Experience with classification models, anomaly detection, regression, and neural networks. Skilled in Python, SQL Server, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with Azure is advantageous. Familiar with Python APIs and data science best practices. Excellent communication and relationship management skills. Strong project management and delivery capabilities. Educational Requirements: Matric certificate. Bachelors degree in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science. A data science-specific qualification is preferred.

Job Summary

Data Scientist Analytics & Insights Financial Services Focus Location: South Africa (Hybrid/Flexible Environment) Level: Entry to Junior (02 years of experience) This is your opportunity to work closely with professionals across risk, actuarial, and finance solving complex problems and influencing decisions at high levels. If youre curious, technically skilled, and passionate about turning data into action, this role is for you. What Youll Be Doing: Data Analysis & Exploration: Clean, prepare, and analyze large datasets from various financial domains. Identify patterns and derive insights using statistical methods and tools like Python, R, or SAS. Model Development: Build and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to forecast financial metrics like customer behaviour, risk, and return. Visualization & Communication: Translate complex data into clear, compelling visual stories using tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Project Support & Collaboration: Partner with experienced consultants across multidisciplinary teams to support client projects, contribute to deliverables, and gain hands-on experience in financial consulting. Learning & Growth: Engage in continuous learning through training, mentorship, and development plans to fast-track your career in analytics. Job Summary

My client is a fast-growing consulting firm offering risk assurance, actuarial, accounting, and analytics services. They are looking for a sharp, driven Data Scientist to join their Analytics & Insights team and help turn complex data into actionable strategies for their clients. Duties: Clean, explore, and analyse large financial datasets (banks, insurers, and investments). Use Python, R or SAS to uncover insights and support decision-making. Build and implement predictive models and machine learning solutions. Visualize data insights clearly for both technical and non-technical teams. Collaborate across teams to support financial consulting projects and reports. Keep learning through workshops, training, and a personal development plan. Job Experience & Skills Required: Qualifications: Masters in Data Science or Analytics (PhD in progress is a plus). Experience: 02 years of experience in data science and machine learning (bonus). Solid Python or R skills; comfort with libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn. Familiarity with cloud (AWS, and Azure), big data (Spark, and Hadoop), and BI tools (Tableau, and Power BI). Job Summary

What you will be doing: Extracting and analyzing digital, clinical and behavioral data to inform product design, customer experience strategies for digital solutions. Developing data science model and A/B testing pipelines for deployment. Applying statistical techniques, behavioral science principles, and data science models to measure and optimize member engagement and user experiences for digital solutions. Working closely with Organisation Health Digital to ensure insights and modelling inputs align with product objectives and app engagement outcomes. Collaborate with systems and engineering teams to integrate data science pipelines into the Health Systems and Health digital solutions. Present insights and results to business stakeholders and senior executives, highlighting the impact of personalized digital experiences on user engagement and experience. What we are looking for : BSc degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum average of 65% across all subjects. 5 years experience as a Data Scientist. Ability to formulate a clear problem statement, develop a plan for tackling it, and clearly communicate findings verbally, visually, and in writing Demonstrable working experience in an analytics position, where the focus was on building and implementing machine learning models to solve business problems Experience accessing and analysing data using language/tools/databases such as Python, R, SQL, etc. Experience using Gradient Boosting Machines, Random Forests, Neural Networks or similar algorithms. Some experience in working with big disparate sets of data and exposure to big data tools Please note that if you do not hear from us within 3 weeks, consider your application unsuccessful.
