Cost & Management Accountant

Im partnering with a rapidly growing trading business thats on the lookout for a highly skilled Cost & Management Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where your expertise will directly support strategic decision-making.

The Role
Youll be the go-to person for all things cost and management accounting from producing accurate, real-time reports to advising the business on margins, cash flow, and profitability. Your ability to analyse data, spot trends, and communicate actionable insights will play a key role in driving growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Developing and maintaining cost control processes aligned to daily trading operations

• Preparing and analysing cost reports, trading margins, and profitability forecasts

• Monitoring inventory, logistics costs, and operational expenses with accurate allocation

• Conducting variance analysis and recommending improvements

• Producing daily operational and financial reports (stock, cash positions, debtors/creditors)

• Preparing weekly working capital reports with a focus on cash flow trends

• Collaborating closely with trading, finance, and operations teams for data alignment

• Preparing monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts

• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls

• Providing strategic input to support trading decisions

Requirements:

• Education: BCom Accounting / Management Accounting (CIMA preferred)

• Experience: 35 years in Cost & Management Accounting, ideally in commodities, mining, trading, or logistics

• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, modelling; macros advantageous)

• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong communication, thrives under pressure, commercially minded, analytical
